The short version
- Hum is a voice app for capturing ideas. It needs the internet and uses AI, which can make mistakes.
- New accounts get 3 free minutes while each day’s free allowance lasts. After that, you buy minute packs through Apple. Minutes never expire.
- All purchases are final. If you ask Apple for a refund, we’ll ask Apple to decline.
- Your ideas are yours. Export them or delete everything any time.
The basics
These terms are between you and WIO (“we”), the independent developer of Hum. Using Hum means you accept them, along with Apple’s standard licence agreement. The Privacy Policy explains your data.
Hum turns what you say into ideas filed in projects. It uses AI that can misunderstand you, so check what matters. You can see recent changes and undo the latest ones. Don’t rely on Hum where a mistake could cause harm.
Your account
Hum creates your account automatically, and your devices with the same Apple Account share it. Keep your devices secure. “Talk without unlocking” is on by default: anyone holding your locked iPhone or iPad can add ideas and use your minutes. You can turn it off in Settings.
Minutes
- Free trial: 3 minutes, once, for a new account, while each day’s free allowance lasts. An account created after that starts without them.
- Packs of 30, 60 or 180 minutes are bought through the App Store, at the price shown there. No subscription. Minutes never expire, work on all your devices, have no cash value and can’t be transferred.
- Counting: a call counts from open to close, pauses included, plus up to 5 seconds for connecting. A call that fails to connect is free. Cancel undoes the call’s changes, but its time still counts.
- Ending: a call ends when Hum has done what you asked, when you end or cancel it, after 5 seconds of quiet once Hum has answered, after 30 seconds without speech, or after 30 minutes. You can have up to 2 calls open.
- Running out: at zero the call ends at once. Anything Hum had already saved stays; what you were saying at that moment isn’t saved.
No refunds
All purchases are final. We don’t refund minute packs, used or unused, except where the law requires it.
- Refund requests go to Apple, and Apple decides. If you ask, we tell Apple how many of the pack’s minutes you used, that they were delivered and that you had a free trial, and we ask Apple to decline. Buying a pack means you agree to this.
- If Apple refunds anyway, we remove that pack’s unused minutes. Accounts that keep asking for refunds may not be able to buy more.
- Deleting your account deletes its unused minutes.
Your content
What you say and the ideas Hum saves are yours. We only store and process them, and share them with the providers in the Privacy Policy, to run Hum for you. Never for advertising, and never to train AI.
Fair use
Don’t use Hum for anything illegal, harmful or abusive. Don’t game the minutes or the free trial, and don’t copy, overload or automate the service. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
The legal bit
Hum is provided as is. We aren’t liable for indirect losses or lost ideas, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here takes away consumer rights you have where you live. Features may change; if we ever shut Hum down, we’ll give you 30 days’ notice so you can export your ideas. You can stop using Hum any time, and we may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Changes and contact
When these terms change, we’ll update the date at the top and tell you in the app about anything important first. Questions: support@sayhum.com.
