The short version
- Hum hears you only while a call is open. It doesn’t keep recordings of your voice.
- Your ideas live in your Hum account, so all your devices show them.
- To understand you, Hum sends what you say and your ideas to its AI voice provider. The app asks your permission first. The provider keeps this for up to 30 days and doesn’t train on it.
- No ads, no tracking, and we never sell your data. No name, email or password.
- You can export or delete everything from Settings.
What Hum keeps
In your Hum account:
- Your ideas and projects, with when they were added and changed.
- A history of your recent changes, so Undo and “put back the old wording” work.
- A text record of your recent calls, so Hum remembers what you talked about. It’s text, not audio.
- Your minutes, and a line for each free trial, purchase and call.
It stays until you delete it or your account. Hum doesn’t collect your name, contacts or location, and contains no analytics or advertising code.
Your voice
While a call is open, your voice goes to Hum’s AI voice provider, which turns it into text and answers you. To find the right idea, the provider also gets your ideas and projects, your recent changes and calls, and your language and today’s date. From a locked iPhone or iPad, Hum sends only your project names, not your ideas.
No audio is saved by Hum. The provider keeps requests for up to 30 days, then deletes them, and doesn’t use them for training. It may process them in the United States.
Who else is involved
Only the companies Hum needs to work: our AI voice provider, our hosting provider, which runs Hum’s server and stores your account, and Apple, for the App Store and payments. Our AI voice and hosting providers may use your data only to provide their service to us; Apple handles payments under its own privacy policy.
Your account and payments
There’s nothing to sign up for. Hum creates your account automatically and links it to your App Store purchase, never your name or email, so your minutes follow you to every device.
Payments go through the App Store, so we never see your card. If you ask Apple for a refund, we tell Apple how much of that pack you used. You agree to this when you buy (see the Terms of Use).
To prevent abuse, such as endless free trials, we briefly use your IP address, then delete it.
On your device
Hum keeps a copy of your board, so it opens fast and you can read it offline, plus your settings. While a call runs, the Lock Screen (and the Dynamic Island on iPhone) shows what Hum hears, so anyone who can see your screen can read it.
Export and delete
- Export: Settings › Export all ideas gives you a Markdown file. For a full copy of everything we keep, write to us.
- Delete an idea: it leaves your board right away. Older copies kept for Undo and in your call history are replaced over time.
- Cancel a call: everything the call changed is undone.
- Delete account and data: erases your account right away. Remaining copies at our providers are gone within 30 days. It can’t be undone, and unused minutes are lost.
Deleting the app doesn’t delete your account. Use Delete account and data first.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data, mostly in the app. For anything else, write to us and we’ll answer within 30 days. If you live in the EU, the UK or California, you can also complain to your local regulator. We use your data to run the service you asked for, to prevent abuse and to handle payments.
Kids
Hum isn’t meant for children under 13, or under the minimum age where you live. If a child is using Hum, write to us and we’ll delete the account.
Changes and contact
When this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app about anything important first. Hum is made by WIO, an independent developer: support@sayhum.com.
